🐾 Bear at a Glance
🐕 Good with Small Dogs: Yes! Bear does best with calm, submissive dogs, whether male or female.
🐕🦺 Big Dogs: Unknown.
🐱 Cats: Yes! Bear gets along well with dog-friendly cats. If a cat runs, though, his instinct is to chase.
👧 Children: Best with older, respectful children. He has done very well with his foster’s 10-year-old niece but is not recommended for homes with small children.
🦮 Leash Skills: Loves to sniff and explore but walks nicely on leash.
🏡 House Trained: Yes! Bear had a few accidents when he first arrived due to anxiety and may occasionally piddle when he gets overly excited while being petted, but otherwise has done very well.
🛏️ Crate Trained: No. He wasn’t fond of a crate in his previous home, and his foster has not needed to crate him.

💤 Sleeping: Loves sleeping with his people! He also enjoys relaxing in his dog bed, especially while his foster is working.
🍖 Food & Toys: Bear is not aggressive. He enjoys carrying his favorite toys around and may be a little possessive of them, but he simply walks away with them. He willingly gives them up when asked, and food can easily be taken from him.
🚗 Car Rides: A little anxious at first, but he rides well in a car seat and enjoys resting his head on the window while taking in the scenery.
🤝 Meeting New People: Very friendly and loves making new friends!
💙 Personality: Affectionate, loyal, loving, and happiest when close to his family.
⚡ Anxiety: Bear does experience separation anxiety. Medication prescribed by his veterinarian helps him settle when left alone, and he’s making great progress with consistency and patience. He also startles easily during thunderstorms and may bark briefly.
