Potty Trained: Yes! 🚽 (Just needs a regular routine/schedule to keep her accident-free).

Leash Manners: Excellent! 🚶♀️ She absolutely loves her neighborhood walks and needs to sniff everything.

Crate Trained: Not a fan of the crate. 🙅♀️ She prefers her own cozy dog bed or snuggling right next to her foster humans in bed! 🛌
🐾 SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY
Athena is an outgoing, happy girl who absolutely loves meeting new people! 🤩

The Greeting Bark: She will bark to greet you or announce when someone comes home, but she settles down quickly. She is not an excessive barker! 🤫

Kids: She loves all children! 👶👧 She does get a bit excited and might jump up to say hello, so she’s just working on her manners there.

Car Rides: A total fan! 🚗 She’s always ready for a road trip or a quick errand run.

Cats & Big Dogs: Unsure right now, as she hasn’t had much exposure to them. 🤔
🐕 FRIENDSHIP STYLE (IMPORTANT!)
Athena has a lot of love to give, but she’s a little selective about her canine entourage.

The Good: She loves small dogs! She currently lives and plays wonderfully with her foster pup brother, Oliver. Because Oliver is super laid-back, non-dominant, and doesn’t get jealous, they are best buds! 🥳

The No-Nos: Athena does not do well with dominant, jealous, or possessive dogs. She can get a little jealous herself and might give a warning “grr” if another dog tries to hog the attention, though she has never shown aggression.

Ideal Home Match: Athena would thrive as an only dog where she can be spoiled with all the toys and attention (with playdates with other small pups!). Alternatively, she would do great with another laid-back, non-dominant dog just like Oliver. 🏡

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
