Meet Adoptable Dachshund Khloe! Khloe is a 6 year old dachshund weighing in at 15 pounds. Khloe is the happiest, friendliest, and most affectionate dog you will ever meet. She is dog friendly, cat friendly, kid friendly, and just an all-around amazing pup who will make the perfect addition to her forever home!
Khloe likes other dogs, big or small, as long as they aren’t too rough with her! She would do great in a home with other dogs. Khloe also does not mind cats at all and would do just fine living in a home with a cat. It is important to know that Khloe will not do good in a home with chickens. Khloe does wonderful with children of all ages and would do great in a home with children, small or bigger. Khloe truly loves just about everyone and everything! She is not shy, shows no signs of fear with things such as loud noises or thunder, is not an excessive barker, and has shown no signs of separation anxiety.
Khloe does well on leash and enjoys walks, although her works have been very short as a result of her recent IVDD surgery. During recovery, she has begun to start taking walks daily with each walk being a little bit longer each day. Khloe is fully house-trained. She is crate-trained and pen-trained. Her preference is the pen and she will willingly go into the pen each night at bedtime with no problems. Khloe loves her dog beds and would also love a home where she could sleep in the big bed at night with her humans. In her foster home, Khloe has shown no signs of toy or food aggression.
This pup is not the biggest fan of car rides, but she tolerates them well. We think that in time, she could become more relaxed in the car especially if her new family takes her on adventures often. Khloe is super friendly with meeting new people and just loves everyone from the start! She is also very friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs, she loves making friends.
Vetting
In our care, Khloe has received all of the following: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Major Surgery – IVDD, Nails Trimmed, HeartWorm testing and medication.
Khloe came to the rescue down in the back, but was a candidate for IVDD surgery. She received her IVDD surgery and has recovered beautifully from it. She is now a very happy, very mobile pup who loves chasing after all of the squirrels and lizards!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
