Adoptable Doxie Dobby – Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida

Adoptable Doxie Dobby

Adoptable Doxie Dobby is 14 years young! This little 12 lb guy is as active as a puppy but only has 3 teeth so can’t chew your shoes up! He is a super happy independent dog. He’s not much for snuggling or being held, probably because he would much rather be playing fetch. He will, however, cuddle up next to you on the couch for a nap!

Adoptable Doxie Dobby

He sleeps in his own dog bed at night. Although independent, he doesn’t like to be crated or left alone for long periods of time. Not to worry, he is 100% housebroken with no accidents. He has to have a diet of soft food do to the lack of teeth.

Dobby likes to be the center of attention and makes that known with other dogs. For that reason he would need to be the dominant one or an only dog. He doesn’t like anyone even looking at his toys. He previously lived with a cat and a bunny rabbit happily.

This fella enjoys walking on a leash and does ok in the car when needed. He has no issues with vision or hearing or being mobile. He is fixed, mircochipped and UTD on all shots.

He would do best in a home without a lot of change in people or routine. If shown the respect he deserves, he’s fine with other small dogs. Dobby dreams of having a human who will play fetch with him every day. He is a super smart and sweet boy who will make a wonderful addition to any family! Adoption fee $200

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
