Meet Peanut the Dachshund! Peanut is 9 years old, weighs approximately 14 pounds, and cannot wait to meet his forever family. He is a laid-back senior who will add so much love to his forever home.

Peanut gets along well with other small pups! We are unsure how he would do around bigger dogs, as he has not been around any since coming to the rescue. Peanut does not do well around cats so he needs to be adopted into a home that does not have cats. We are unsure how Peanut would do around younger children, but he has done amazing with older children.

Peanut does well on leash and loves going for walks. Peanut is fully house-trained and he is crate-trained as well. Peanut sleeps in the big bed at night with his foster parent and absolutely loves snuggle time! He also loves naps and takes them very frequently. If he’s not eating, he’s sleeping or gazing out the window into the yard.

Vetting and Medical
In our care, Peanut has received all of the following: Vet Check, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

He enjoys car rides and is a pretty great passenger! He does very well when it comes to meeting new people, he’s extremely friendly and relaxed and absolutely loves getting pets from everyone he meets. While with the rescue, he hasn’t had too many opportunities to meet other dogs (aside from the dogs in his foster home), so we are not sure how he would do when meeting new dogs in public but we don’t foresee there being any issues with this especially if slow introductions are done.

Peanut the Dachshund – 9 yrs, 14 lbs
He loves belly rubs, naps on the couch or bed with his humans, long walks around the neighborhood with the occasional zoomies in the yard and rolling around in the grass. He has shown no food or toy aggression while in his foster home. Peanut shows no signs of separation anxiety, he doesn’t mind spending some time apart from his people. He is also not much of a barker at all. This laid-back senior will add joy and dachshund love to his new home! Adoption Fee $250
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
