Meet Doxie Mix Bella! Bella is the sweetest little 7 month old puppy weighing in at only 13 pounds. She is dog friendly, extremely smart, energetic, and happiest when receiving pets and belly rubs. As with all puppies, she will require further training to help her become the best dog she can be but the extra effort is well worth it. She can’t wait to find her forever home!
Bella loves other small dogs! She is super playful and energetic and just loves hanging out with other dogs that will play with her. We are unsure how she does with larger dogs as she hasn’t been around any since coming to the rescue, but we believe she would get along just fine with them especially if they are energetic and playful like her. Bella does not do the best around cats, so her ideal home will be one without cats. She is also very jumpy and very energetic since she is so young, so a home without young children would likely be best for her. She would do great in a home with older children.
With Bella being so young, she does have a few areas her future adopter will have to continue working with her on in order to help her become the best dog that she can be! She will require further work with leash training, house training, and crate training if her future adopter wants to utilize the crate. For house training, Bella is currently pee-pad trained but her foster family is working hard to get her trained to go outside. Bella is very smart and can pick up on training well, she even already knows the commands “leave it” and “go lay down.” She also picked up on using the doggy door very quickly in her foster home.
Bella enjoys her dog bed, but enjoys sleeping in the big bed with her humans and her foster siblings even more! Bella is hoping for an adopter who will let her snuggle up with them each night. Bella has shown no signs of toy or food aggression while in her foster home, although she absolutely loves collecting all of the toys for her own personal pile! Bella shows no signs of separation anxiety and doesn’t mind being apart from her humans for a bit.
Bella does great with car rides and really seems to enjoy them! She just lays down in the car and enjoys the ride. She enjoys meeting new people but can be very shy at first. Once she opens up, she absolutely adores the attention. She is also friendly with meeting new dogs too and especially loves them if they’ll play with her!
Bella came from a hoarding situation but luckily was able to be rescued at such a young age, making her transition to the real word a bit smoother than most. However, it does seem like she can get very overwhelmed and scared of new people and new things as a result. She is the sweetest dog and just gets very shy and timid around new people, things, and places. Once she is comfortable, she is happy and loving as can be.

In our care, Bella has received all of the following: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
