Meet Adoptable Mix Lady! Lady is an adorable, adoptable 7 year old mix weighing in at only 7 pounds. Foster mom calls Lady the “best couch companion ever” due to her laid-back nature. She is sweet, snuggly, well- mannered and charming. She delights in making a nest at your feet while you are working, joining you on the couch for a TV night, will faithfully follow you around the house, and loves snuggling up all the time. What more could you ask for?!
Lady loves other dogs and has done great with the other dogs in her foster home. Big or small, she just loves having a friend around to spend her days with! She can be a bit bossy with dogs who are smaller than her but never mean. We are unsure how she would do with cats as she has not been exposed to any while in her foster home but we assume she would do fine with proper introductions. We are unsure how she would do with younger children but we think a home without younger children would be best due to her size and her current quiet lifestyle. She would do just fine in a home with older children.
Lady is great on leash and enjoys her walks. She also loves laying in the yard and getting some sun and fresh air. She is also fully house-trained and is crate-trained, although she has not had to really use the crate in her foster home. Her foster mom said she is so well behaved that there is no need for it. Lady does wonderfully when given free roam of the home. Lady loves her dog beds but loves sleeping in the big bed with her humans even more! She even uses the doggy stairs up to the bed like a pro each night.
When it comes to car rides, Lady can be a bit timid at first but calms down quickly and loves sitting in the passenger’s lap and looking out the window taking in all of the sights. Lady is friendly when it comes to meeting new people after a quick short bark to let them know who’s boss! She is super friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs and has loved every dog that she has met. Lady shows no signs of anxiety when being left alone, she does great when her humans leave and she’s given free roam of the house along with the other dogs in her foster home. She is not an excessive barker, she keeps her vocal time to a minimum!
Vetting
Healthwise, there is some important information to know about Lady. Lady takes Phenobarbital for a seizure disorder of unknown origin. She has not had an episode in more than 2 years and her daily medication is less than $5 a month. Additionally it was discovered during an x-ray for a stomach upset that she has some small/early signs of IVDD. This does not affect her, but she will need to remain in a quiet environment with no jumping, rough play, or heavy exertion. While it is something to be aware of, her current vet sees no need for immediate concern or intervention.
In our care, Lady has received all of the following: Vet Check, Dental Exam, Medication (permanent – like for seizure treatment), Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal)

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
