Adoptable Dachshund Mix Jax – Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida

Adoptable Dachshund Mix Jax

Meet sweet boy, Jax! He has a lot of “puppy” in him at one and a half years old. His twelve pounds of cuteness will sure light up the life of his lucky forever home!

Adoptable Dachshund Mix Jax

Jax enjoys going for walks and riding in the car. He knows how to settle down and look out the window. Jax loves a good game of fetch and snuggles afterwards. He is affectionate and loves attention from you – especially in the form of treats!

He is mostly house-trained but still has a few accidents here and there. Jax does best when he is let out every couple of hours to ensure he doesn’t have an accident. Jax is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at nighttime. If given the opportunity to sleep in the big bed, Jax would curl up with you! He isn’t afraid of thunder nor loud noises. He does well when left home alone, however, if you are home Jax would like to follow you around the house.

Foster mom believes Jax needs to be adopted into a home without cats. He seems to like cats a bit too much – chasing them and disturbing their cat routine. As far as other dogs, Jax prefers smaller dogs (big friends make him nervous). Jax likes most small dogs, however, he will bark excessively towards those that he is unsure of. His adoptive family must be patient and understanding of this and work through these emotions and behaviors with him.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
