Adoptable dachshund Jimmy is a super lovable dog who would prefer to have human with him all the time. He is eight years young and only thirteen pounds.
Jimmy was an only dog but is doing well with his foster brothers and sisters. He does aggravate the puppy in his foster home. It may be that his energy is too high or the puppy is actually bigger than him. Cats and small children – unknown.
Jimmy has had a terrific time exploring the large property while staying in his foster home. He gets very excited when he sees his harness and is ready to go walking! He would enjoy a yard to play in but should adjust well to most dog friendly lifestyles. Jimmy will need someone that is home most of the time. He has a hard time when his foster mom leaves and craves attention all the time.
Although he is not afraid of loud noises, Jimmy will bark when he hears them to alert his human. Not to worry, he is not an excessive barker, just when appropriate as he so determines.
Jimmy will sleep in a crate but he prefers to sleep in the big bed with a human! He’s been friendly when meeting new people. He may bark at first, but will quiet down pretty quickly. He’s been well behaved on car rides.
Vetting and Medical
In our care they have received: Jimmy came to Low Rider fully vetted! He has been well cared for.
Every dog who is rescued by Low Rider is fully vetted and receives the care they need to gain a new “leash” on life! If you can assist with vetting expenses, it is greatly appreciated!

Adoptable dachshund Jimmy is a super lovable dog who would prefer to have human with him all the time. Beware, he will give you a bath with his kisses! He will be your shadow, following you every where you go, and if you have a walk in shower, well he may just follow you in there too! Jimmy is working hard on house-training but will need continued help. A schedule, patience, and consistency will make a difference. He does bark when left alone, but will stop after a little bit. He needs someone that will be with him most of the time and give him lots of love.. . . Adoption fee $250

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
