Meet Mix Frankenweenie! Frankenweenie is 12 years old, weighs approximately 12 pounds, and can’t wait to meet his forever family. Looking for a quirky, loyal companion who marches to the beat of his own little paws? Let us introduce you to this sweet little guy, affectionately known as Papi – a true one-of-a-kind dachshund with a whole lot of heart (and some serious ear game).

Frankenweenie has enjoyed being around other dogs, both big and small. He is not a big fan of playing, so he will let other pups know this with a warning growl if they are too energetic for him. Frankenweenie does not do well with cats, so a home without cats is necessary for him. He also hasn’t done well around super young children, but would likely do fine around older children who are respectful and understanding of dog boundaries.
Frankenweenie loves his nightly walks and gets so excited for them! He gets the zoomies as soon as he sees his harness. He does very well on leash. He is fully house-trained and he is also crate-trained. Frankenweenie enjoys lounging on the dog beds throughout the case but he actually prefers to sleep in his crate. He has shown no food or toy aggression while in his foster home. He has also shown no signs of separation anxiety, he doesn’t mind spending time apart from his people. He is not a big barker at all.

Frankenweenie loves car rides and is a wonderful passenger! He enjoys meeting new people but can be a little guarded, so slow introductions are ideal for him. He is friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs and gets so excited that his tail starts wagging 100 miles per minute!
Bonus points: Frankenweenie’s expressive face, ears, and tail do most of the talking. He’ll have you cracking up with his side-eyes, “Did you just say walk?” glances, and dramatic sighs. This little pup has a big personality and cannot wait to show it off in his forever home!

Vetting and Medical
Healthwise, Frankenweenie is a pretty healthy pup! The only thing to note here is that he does have a grade 3 heart murmur.
In our care, Frankenweenie has received all of the following: Heart Worm testing and medication
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Meet Mix Frankenweenie – 12 yrs, 12 lbs
Frankenweenie is an independent soul who values his space and appreciates a calm, patient home where he can open up in his own time. He’s not a velcro dog (yet!), but with love and consistency, we believe he has the potential to become a super snuggler. While Frankenweenie isn’t the biggest fan of sudden moves or boundary-crossing, he thrives when his space is respected. He’s looking for a human who understands that trust is earned, and once you’ve got it – he’s yours. Adoption fee $150
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
