Meet Doxie Mix Benson! Benson is 3 years old, weighs 11 pounds, and cannot wait to meet his forever family. Benson only has 3 legs, but he does not let that slow him down one bit! He is a very happy, very active little guy who will make a wonderful addition to his forever family.
Benson gets along well with other dogs, both big and small. He loves to play with other pups and makes friends with them very quickly! We are unsure how he would do with cats or with children since he has not been around either since coming to the rescue. We think he would love to have a four legged friend in his forever home though!
Benson loves his walks and does great on leash. He is house-broken, crate-trained, and has shown no food or toy aggression while in his foster home. He is not a big barker and he shows no signs of separation anxiety. He doesn’t mind spending some time apart from his people and is very well behaved while his humans are away.
Vetting and Medical
Benson came to us from the shelter after someone had brought him after they witnessed him being hit by a car. He was in a lot of pain with multiple broken bones. As a result, his right rear leg had to be amputated. He has taken the amputation like a champ and bounced back extremely quickly. He acts just like any other pup and does not let one missing leg slow him down.
In our care, Benson has received all of the following: Vet Check, Spay or Neuter, Major Surgery (such as cancer tumor removal), Heart Worm testing and medication

He is used to sleeping in his dog bed at night, but we bet he would love to cuddle up in the big bed with his future adopters! Benson enjoys car rides and loves going on adventures. He does great when meeting new people and new pups! He is going to make the perfect companion for someone who is part adventurer, part couch potato. He loves getting out and being active but also loves to cuddle up with his people on the couch and just relax. Adoption fee $300

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
