Adoptable Mix Nora is a 3 year old, 18 pound sweet girl who loves to snuggle with her humans anytime she can! She enjoys playing outside and is always up for running around the yard, a game of fetch, or a nice walk.

Nora is currently living with a 40 pound Aussiedoodle and is showing fearful aggression. She is possessive of her human and also is possessive of her food, toys, couches, bed, resource guarding. She has a history of being wary of larger dogs due to an altercation with a larger dog sometime ago. It has been reported that she is ok with smaller dogs in a park setting. On walks, Nora seems to ignore other dogs, or look at them but not make any overt effort to visit with them. She pulls a bit but with a little practice, should be a pro in no time!
Nora requires a harness and sturdy leash as she has a history of running off on an adventure here and there. It’s important that she be in her harness and that an adopter is prepared to keep her safe from her own little self!
Although there is no cat in her foster home, it was reported that she previously lived successfully with a cat. She hasn’t been around very small children, but is perfectly happy with older kids around.
Nora is fully house trained and sleeps soundly through the night. She is just as comfortable sleeping with blankets in her crate, as she is snuggling up to her humans on a couch or bed. Nora knows some basic commands (come, sit, off, leave it) but at times it takes a few tries before she complies, must be the dachshund in her! She is very food motivated and seems easy to train.

While she is crate trained, Nora loves to sleep curled up next to her person. Good on car rides, she sits happily in the backseat. During the time in her foster home, Nora has been receptive and friendly when meeting new people. When meeting a new dog, it’s important that she not have any food or toys around to resource guard. In public and on walks, she has been fine with small dogs. She doesn’t react when passing other dogs on walks.
It has been reported that she is afraid of loud noises. Even so, Nora does not bark excessively. She will bark when someone comes to the door, but only at appropriate times.

Vetting
In our care she has received: Vet Check, Dental Exam, bloodwork, vaccines, fecal test. Nora does take Benadryl as needed for allergies (she gets a stuffy nose and itchy skin) but it seems to do the trick.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!
