Adoptable Senior Mix Dax is 11 years old and weighs 15 pounds. After a few minor incidents upon arrival (to be expected with most rescue dogs) Dax settled right into his foster home.

Although technically a senior pup, Dax is full of energy and love! He happily trots around the house following his people, loves exploring the yard and walking around the neighborhood. He still needs some practice on the leash and his foster parents are working on getting him to not pull on the leash. He’ll be a pro in no time! He loves to explore on his walks.
He has never had an accident in the house. He is a very good listener when called, asked to stay, redirected from barking. Dax is happy snuggling with you on the couch or resting in his crate. He does like to be the center of attention and tries to push his way in between his person and another dog when being pet. But, is not aggressive about it and is okay to share pets and laps! Although Dax was aggressive towards his foster brother at first, he was just trying to establish dominance and after a few days there have not been any issues. They happily lounge together on the couch and play in the yard.

Dax has been good with bigger kids and other dogs, big and small. He is fully house-trained and crate trained as well. Dax uses a dog bed during the day and sleeps in his crate near his foster parents at night. He is not food or toy aggressive.
When meeting new people, Dax has been excited but not aggressive. He is friendly when meeting new dogs, but believes himself to be the alpha. He shows some initial aggression (not violent) to assert himself. It doesn’t take him very long to settle in.
He barks only when appropriate. Once he is redirected, Dax will stop barking. This good boy may whine a little when first left alone. He’s accustomed to his crate and settles in quickly.

Vetting
In our care he has received: Vet Check, Dental Exam, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Flea Treatments, Major Dental (cleaning and removal). Senior blood panel. He is microchipped.
We depend on donations from caring people, like you, to make a difference in the lives of dogs. As an all volunteer organization, you can rest assured that the donations go directly to help the dogs. Thank you!

Adoptable Senior Mix Dax – 11 yrs, 15 lbs.
Dax will be happy in a variety of homes. He has no separation anxiety and is crate and house trained. He does love attention from his human and cuddles up nicely with a dog pal, once they have adjusted to each other. He does want to be the dominant pup, so a match with another dominant dog would not be the best. Dax loves to go for walks and would also enjoy time in the yard. This senior has plenty of energy but is also fond of couch and cuddle time. Adoptable senior mix Dax deserves a home where he is cared for and loved! Adoption fee $150
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
