Meet Adoptable Mix Mikey! Mikey is 9 years old, weighs approximately 20 pounds, and cannot wait to find his forever home. He is a sweet pup who loves being with his humans, taking walks, sleeping in, and lounging around on the couch.

Mikey hasn’t been around other pups since coming to the rescue, but he did have a brother in his prior home so we believe he does well with other small pups. Mikey lives with a cat in his foster home and does well, he just prefers to keep to himself and keep his interactions with the cat minimal. We are unsure how he would do with bigger dogs or with young children as he hasn’t been around either since coming to the rescue.
Mikey has wonderful leash manners and enjoys his walks! With him being an older guy, 20-30 minute walks are his max or his knee starts to bother him. Those 20-30 are the highlight of his day though! Mikey is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and just an all-around amazing little pup. He has shown no food or toy aggression while in his foster home, he enjoys playing with toys and takes treats very gently.

Mikey sleeps on the dog bed on the floor of the bedroom with his foster parents and just loves being close to them. We think he would love sleeping in the big bed with his humans in his forever home too! Mikey enjoys car rides and does great for them. He’s also done well with meeting new people, he’s just a little shy at first. We are unsure how he would do with meeting new dogs as he hasn’t been introduced to any since coming to the rescue but he is definitely curious about other pups he sees on walks.

Adoptable Mix Mikey – 9 yrs, 20 lbs.
Mikey does have some separation anxiety that his future adopter needs to be aware of. When left home alone and not crated, he will bark a lot and has shown some destructive behaviors. He does much better when left alone and crated, but an adopter who is home a majority of the time would be ideal for him. It is also important for his future adopter to know that he has an issue with his left knee, the vets think it could potentially be a luxating patella issue but it does not give him any trouble unless he is walking on it for too long. He has minor cataracts as well, but he shows no sign of vision issues. Mikey is a very sweet senior pup who deserves a wonderful home to spend his golden years in! Adoption fee $200
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
