Meet Adoptable Dachshund Mix Anniebelle! Nicknamed Annie, this sweet girl is 13 years old and weighs approximately 8 pounds. Annie loves cuddles, belly rubs, exploring the backyard, and spending all her time with her people close by.
Annie is not the biggest fan of other pups, she prefers to be a solo pup and get all the attention for herself! We think she would also do fine in a home with one other dog who is older and laid-back. Annie would do best in a home without cats or small children. We think she would do well in a home with older children who are understanding and respectful of dog boundaries.
Annie does well on leash but she definitely prefers a fenced in backyard over a walk. An adopter with a fenced in backyard will be ideal for little Annie so she can spend lots of time outside as she is known to take her time exploring for quite a bit before going potty. She is house trained and does well on the schedule she is used to in her foster home. We are unsure if Annie is crate trained or not as she hasn’t needed to be crated while in her foster home. Annie has shown no food or toy aggression while in her foster home. She is a slow eater and eats best when she has her person sitting next to her.

In our care, Annie has received all of the following: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Skin treatments/ infections, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication
Anniebelle displays typical chihuahua behavior and can be very shaky and nervous at times. She doesn’t like being left alone and will do best in a home where someone is present a majority of the time. Since she is mostly blind, she relies mainly on her sense of smell to recognize who is around her. Hearing the voices of the people around her before they touch her has also shown to be very good for her. She has some unique needs as a senior pup, but the love she will add to her forever family will be so worth it.

Adoptable Dachshund Mix Anniebelle likes lounging around in the dog beds around the house, but she prefers spending the night cuddled up with her foster parents in the big bed. An adopter who will allow her to cuddle up with them in the big bed each night would be Annie’s dream! She enjoys car rides and does well when it comes to meeting new people as long as she is approached slowly before being touched. She is the sweetest pup once she realizes she is in a safe place with safe people. Annie does not do too well meeting new pups, as she is mostly blind and gets frightened or intimidated easily. *Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
