Adoptable Mix Wishbone is an adorable 6 year old mix weighing in at 8 pounds. He is housetrained, knows basic commands, and has so much love to give to the perfect family. Wishbone can’t wait to find his forever home!
You may recognize him from Facebook as Wishbone was in terrible shape and came to the rescue very down on his luck. The BEST NEWS is that he has made the most amazing transformation throughout the past few months! After being either hit by a car or thrown out of a moving car, this poor pup was severely emaciated and bruised all over, confused, and terrified but never anything less than sweet with the people who saved him! Wishbone has now made a full recovery and spends every day showing you how thankful he is to be alive.
Wishbone has gotten along with a majority of the other dogs in his foster home, but is not a fan of one of his smaller foster brothers so we think he may be dog selective and not a fan of dogs smaller than him. He would likely do well in a home with another small dog with slow introductions but he would also do wonderful as an only dog getting all of the attention from his people. We are unsure how Wishbone would do with cats or with children as he has not been exposed to either while in his foster home.
He is not the biggest fan of car rides, but he will tolerate them. We think that being in the car seems scary to him due to his past trauma, so he tends to shake during car rides. Also, due to his past trauma, he can be very weary of meeting new people. He will bark at new people until he learns that they will not hurt him. Even with familiar people, he can be very shy and timid sometimes. We think the right person will make him fully comfortable, but they have to be willing to take the time to really work to gain his trust. Wishbone does have some separation anxiety and does not like being left alone. He will bark a lot being left alone, so an apartment would not be a good fit for him. Also important to note, as of now Wishbone requires being on wet food as he does not drink a lot of water so he gets his fluids through wet food.
Vetting
In our care, Wishbone has received all of the following: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Skin treatments/ infections, Nails Trimmed. Emergency care. Several vet checks due to injury.

Wishbone enjoys walks and does well on leash. He is also house-trained and currently pee-pad trained. He is crate trained and sleeps in his kennel in the same room with his foster mom. He loves his dog beds and also loves sleeping on the big bed with his people when given the chance. Wishbone has shown no food or toy aggression while in his foster home, he is happy to share his toys with his favorite foster siblings. He wishes for a family who is home a lot, who will always be there for him! Adoption fee $250
