Dachshund Mix Daisy 1

Meet Daisy! Dachshund Mix Daisy 1 is an adorable, adoptable dog who is approximately 6 years old and weighing in at approximately 23 pounds. Coined a certified sweetheart by her foster family, Daisy cannot wait to find her forever family and her forever home where she can take all the naps her heart desires!

Daisy has had minimal interaction with other dogs, but is friendly when she comes across them on walks. She doesn’t seem to be interested in playing with other dogs, at least not yet, but shows no fear towards them. We are unsure how Daisy does with cats or children.

Daisy really enjoys walks and sits patiently waiting to get her harness on and off! She walks well on leash and doesn’t tug. Daisy is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. We are unsure if Daisy is crate trained or not as she hasn’t used a crate in her foster home, but we believe she would do well with using a crate if needed. She has not shown any toy or food aggression in her foster home. She adores her stuffed hedgehog and takes it all around the house with her. Daisy also does well for car rides. She does not bark frequently, only when someone is at the door.

Daisy loves naps and is lovingly nicknamed “Lazy Daisy” by her foster mom! Daisy will nap and sleep in her foster mom’s bed, her dog beds, under an ottoman, under a coffee table, on the floor, etc. Daisy isn’t picky when it comes to a place to lay her head! Daisy does not show signs of separation anxiety, she will likely just nap when you’re gone.

In our care, Daisy has received all of the following: Vet check, 1 or more vaccines, dental exam, nails trimmed, heartworm testing and medication.

When it comes to meeting new people, Daisy tends to be a bit anxious at first. She has not ever been aggressive or unfriendly, she just goes to hide and hang out until the coast is clear. We believe she will do well with meeting new people with slow introductions. It is important for her future family to know that she will be quite shy with them at first, but that she will get comfortable within a few days and the wait is so worth it! In the meantime, she loves searching for hiding spots under pieces of furniture. She considers these spaces her “safe spaces” and will likely utilize these spaces as she is getting more and more comfortable with her forever family. Daisy also likes to utilize these hiding spots for thunderstorms. Adoption fee $250
