Adoptable Dachshund Kevin

Adoptable dachshund Kevin is the best boy! He loves to play and walk and snuggle with his humans and dog friends. He loves everyone he meets after initially voicing his opinion to them. He will bark his greetings, but will settle down afterwards.

Adoptable Dachshund Kevin

He is happy sitting next to you or laying at your feet, especially when you are cooking dinner! Wherever you go Kevin isn’t far behind! And his doting puppy eyes always remind you how much he loves you.

Adoptable Dachshund Kevin

A friendly fella, Kevin likes other dogs, big and small. He’s been around many dogs and is interested in playing. He is interested in cats, but will leave them alone. He is crate trained and sleeps all night in his crate without issue.

Although Kevin is happy to be in bed with his people he sleeps in the crate at night because of his medical issue and sometimes random vomiting in the bed at night. It’s important that the crate be in the room with his people in case of choking.

House trained, Kevin is good about letting you know when he needs to go out by pacing and looking to you. Although he did some marking in his foster home initially, he has now been neutered.

Good with older children, he hasn’t been around very young kids while in our care. He is a sweet dog and will most likely do well with anyone.

Kevin is good on the leash with his harness. He loves his morning and evening walks around the neighborhood. This boy loves to swim and would be happy to have that opportunity on a regular basis.

Although Kevin has a special, medically necessary way of eating he loves mealtime and knows his routine. And it sure doesn’t stop him from sitting for treats whenever you have some to offer.

Kevin has Megaesophagus which requires him to eat in a special chair and stay upright for 30 minutes after eating. He is on medications to help alleviate the side effects. He does best with small meals 3-4 times a day and soft foods and treats.

In our care they have received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Medication (permanent – like for seizure treatment), Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication. Kevin went to the specialist for extensive testing for his condition. Options were explored on his behalf.

Every dog who is rescued by Low Rider is fully vetted and receives the care they need to gain a new “leash” on life! If you can assist with vetting expenses, it is greatly appreciated!

Adoptable Dachshund Kevin – 1.5 yrs, 11.5 lbs.

Adoptable Dachshund Kevin

Adoptable dachshund Kevin is adorable and loves dogs and people alike. His forever home is one where someone is home most of the time because Kevin has Megaesophagus. He must eat 3-4 small meals daily and stay in his Bailey Chair for 30 minutes while and after eating. Kevin requires ongoing medication to keep him safe from choking. His adopter will need to keep a special watch on him, but he’s totally worth it! He loves to swim and is hoping for a pool. Kevin has plenty of puppy play and love to offer to his new forever home. . . . Adoption fee $350
